Welcome to a new part of my life. Many of you know about my love for arts as a writer/journalist, photographer and musician—and my heart for encouraging others’ creativity. God has now called me into another area of ministry where I’ll keep doing what I’m doing, but with more intentionality.

Just over a year ago, I was interviewing Artists in Christian Testimony (A.C.T.) International executive director Byron Spradlin for a ChristianWeek Ontario article. A challenge from Byron led to the formation of Selaw (pronounced ‘say-LAV’) Ministries.

Arts Connection for Monday, September 22, 2014 - Linda Hall - "Strange Faces"

Tonight’s guest spent the early years of her writing career in the fields of journalism, freelance writing and adult literacy. In the early 1990s Linda Hall (http://writerhall.com/) decided to take the plunge into fiction and her first novel: a science fiction effort titled The Josiah Files was published in 1992. Since then the award-winning author has penned close to 20 novels and a number of short stories.

Arts Connection for Monday, September 8, 2014 - Barrie Doyle - The Excalibur Parchment

Tonight’s guest has spent his working life telling stories about people or helping people to tell their own story—whether that’s been as a journalist or a public relations/public affairs professional. He even wrote The Media and the Message a few years ago to help churches and Christian organizations to tap into the good side of the mass media. Now Barrie Doyle (http://www.barriedoyle.com/) is telling another story in his first novel The Excalibur Parchment which will be published this fall.

Arts Connection for Monday, September 1, 2014 - Dan Steeves - Award-winning printmaker

Tonight’s guest is an award-winning printmaker whose work has been exhibited in galleries in Canada, the U.S., Holland, China, England, Korea, Russia, Scotland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Taiwan and the Ukraine. Dan Steeves (http://dansteeves.com/) is also a printmaking technician/lecturer at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and was recently the first prize winner in The Open Studio’s annual National Printmaking Awards.

Arts Connection for Monday, August 25, 2014 - Bonnie Grove - Mental health

The recent suicide of actor and comedian Robin Williams once again brought the topic of mental illness out of the shadows where it became trending topic on Twitter, Facebook and other social media forums. Even Christians, and artists who are Christian have struggled with these challenges. On this show I’ve interviewed people who have openly discussed their struggles with depression, anxiety and body image.
